New Changes to the website

Check out the website updates and a new page featuring Pams contribution to the shop. You do remember in an earlier post that she was joining, the line she brought in is a line of WOUNDERFUL (can't say enough) fragrance beads by "Exotic Recovery" . All I can say is they have been in the shop for a short time already and we need to get more, they are that popular. Check out the website for the scents we have in stock. Pam is looking into getting a few scents to go with the holidays. (I've had a preview and you will love them.) Also keep an eye out for my line of jewelry online in the next few week, I just sent the additions to the collection to the store. Talk to you soon.

Tom.

News Article on BIll

Judy and Lin sent an article the the Homosassa Beascon about Bill.

"Bill Dickerson, a well known local artist, has just returned from a stay in Key West. While he was there he was commisioned to paint murals and signs for Cowboy Bill's Night Club on Duval Street. He also took orders for port-a-bars with a western theme.
He felt like this was a return to some of his artist beginings. While in the Marines Bill was stationed Key West in the 60's.
His work can be found locally at the Riverside Gallery & Gifts in Old Homosassa and is featured on Cowboy Bills website and various other locations in the Keys."

Sept is here and all of us at the gallery are gearing up for the fall season.

We have welcomed "Fall" into our holiday hall with handmade ghosts, bats along with a new line of Gund motion censor and singing ghouls.  The spooks are arriving just for you.

Catch some "Exotic Recovery", a new concept in home fragrance, a "Resort for your Mind".  These fragrance beads are enhanced with shells and tropical splendor.  They not only take you away they make a wonderful display in a glass bowl or shell (we are using abalone shells) here.  They are all made in Fl and we have 6 fragrances- Tropical Rain, Maui Woei, At The Shore, Last Mango In Paris, Kaumquat Ginger, and Manderin Vanilla.  They are going fast, stop by and find your oasis soon.  This line was added to the shop by Pamela Boone (new member of our family)

Bill has returned briefly from the Keys to leave again on the 1st.  He has already completed murals there for Cowboy Bill's on Duval St and has to take porta bars and signs for the new night club.  He is on a Key high right now and we will keep you posted about when his landings here at the gallery.
We welcome a new artist Gary Kuhl with photo art.  Gary is from Floral City and has added some greatphotos of alligators, egrets and more.  All nicely framed and ready to enhance your home or office.
Miss Lin has added a new line of children's books.  A manatee, an alligator and crab book with plush toy authenticated by the Smithsonian Institute.  Sammy the Sea Cow and more, great gift ideas from Grandma, reasonably priced and educational, too.  We may have a story time day for Miss Lin to share with the youngsters.

Cowboy Bill

Ok.. Time catch everyone up on whats been happening. Well lets see a couple of weeks ago Brady (one of Bill's students offered to take Bill and a few of his Port-A-Bars to Key West.) To keep things short... Bill had a showing in a small gallery showing/selling his Port-A-Bars and came to the attention of Cowboy Bill owner of Cowboy Bills Honky Tonk Saloon in Key West. You will be seeing links the Bill's website on ours. Well back to the tale.. Cowboy Bill liked what he saw and the two Bills got talking next thing you know our Bill is painting a couple of murals for Cowboy Bill. Of Course that is not the end.. While Bill is painting he is noticed by other owners in the area and picks up a few more mural jobs. Well Bills is back in town and is has been approached by (get this) a Key West themed restaurant here in Homosassa that is getting ready to open back up in September. (Check with Judy to find out when and where) To wrap things up Bill is going back to Key West to do more for Cowboy Bill with more murals and custom themed Port-A-Bars based on Cowboy Bill's Honky Tonk Saloon and Key West. So keep a eye out for further news and new links on our website and and our new link on Cowboy Bill's.

Gift Show

Well I'm back after a bit of an absence. umm I was out sick. (I hate summer colds)

Mom, Pam and I want to the Orlando Gift Show Monday and yesterday. Mom was there to restock on some popular items for the store as well as find anything new that might fit in. I restocked up on some new beads and found a few new suppliers, so keep an eye out for new designs.

Pam, is a new member to the family at the gallery. She will be bringing in a fantastic new line of Fragrance Beads made right here in Florida. We all fell in love with scents and Pam ordered a small sample of the best sellers.

So stop by the store to check them out, they should be in by next Monday. Heck you should stop by the store over the next few weeks to see all that we found as they come in. More on Pam in my next blog.

See Ya then.

New Pages on site

As I noted before, I'm back with some more information about some of the artists in our gallery. I do want to focus more on the others before I give you more information on mom, Bill and myself. So here I go with the first of many.

We here at the Riverside Gallery we present Barb and Paul Pellerin of Homosassa.

Barbara and Paul's colorful works are very familiar to many of us that attend local festivals and craft shows. Paul is always busy (under Barb's watchful eye) cutting birds, flamingos, manatees and so much more. When he is done with his master woodwork it all gets handed over to Barb.

Barb then performs a bit of magic on her own with a brush and a touch of imagination. Barabara's talents go to great lengths with fine detail on lighted bottles, driftwood pieces, shell designs and fantastic nautical decor.

She enjoys creating holiday themed items from fall to Christmas. She already has a great selection in the gallery. You're sure to fall in love with her beautiful work and eye for detail. One of the great things about some of her ornaments is that she uses recycled items like old light bulbs, wooden clothespins and much more.

To see some of Barb and Paul's work check out the "B & P Originals" page, or better yet stop into the store and see everything they have for you to enjoy.

Old Homosassa Village Association

The Old Homosassa Village Association is thirteen local businesses that are dedicated to welcoming visitors to old Homosassa. Our first event is experiencing a scavenger hunt discovering what is in our own back yard. Each business will have maps showing locations of our shops, galleries and restuarants. Fourteen questions will lead you through old Homosassa as you search for the answers. You must answer a min. of seven questions to qualify for drawings of fabulous prizes and gift certificates. Come expirience a taste old Homosassa with street vendors, entertainment and refreshments July 3rd and 4th from 12 - 8 PM.

Monday, June 29, 2009

Well here we are again with some updates. Ok. I've added more information on the website for mom's gift baskets. Keep in mind these are just ideas on what she has done and can do for you or your party. Also to let you know she will be busy working on a Wedding. She was helping the Homosassa Riverside Resort (See link below) with the bride to be for reception decorations. Well knowing mom one thing led to another and she is now doing all the floral for the wedding and reception. I'll keep you posted on what going on, I'm taking her get stocked up on supplies Tuesday. (Wish me luck) ;)

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

I'm back with some last minute news.

Judy and a few of her business neighbors got together and formed the "old
Homosassa Village Assoc." (More on that later when I find out more.) On July 3rd & 4th from 4 pm to 8pm the group of local business knows as the Old Homosassa Village Assoc. will introduce their first monthly event with a scavenger hunt. You will be able to pick up a map with our locations shown and as you visit each business find the answer to their trivia question and enjoy their entertainment, refreshments, and other vendors (sorta like a street festival) we hope also. When you answer the questions it gives you the chance to enter into the drawings we will have after the weekend to give away prizes, gift certificates and such. There are 13 different local business involved so far and we want everyone to be our guest and discover what we have to offer in our backyard.
Just off of 19. In future events we will try to collect canned goods for our
local food bank. It will always be held on the first Fri & Sat of each month.

I will try to give a little more notice if I can in the future events.
